6 Vegan Restaurants in London for Every Price Range

Veganism is on the rise! In 2018 it was reported that there are around 540,000 vegans in Great Britain, and I imagine that has only grown since.

You can see why – as well as protecting animals it’s also great for your health and for the environment. What’s not to like?

Well, for some people it’s just too difficult to say goodbye to their favourite foods.

However, it’s a bit of a misconception that vegan eats can’t be good. With increased popularity has come increased availability, and there are more and more options for you veg lovers out there!

So, whether you’re a die-hard vegan or fancy giving it a go, it’s good to know what your options are.

To get you started, here are some great vegan restaurants in our country’s capital, for every price range.

We start with…

Cheap eats £

If you’re after cheap eats, London has loads of options, but our vegan friendly street food is where you want to be.

Ethiopiques – Brick Lane/Southbank

This food stall is only open on the weekend, but it is absolutely worth a visit. Serving up delicious, veg filled Ethiopian food, this stall will fill your soul with spicy goodness. You can get a full meal for under a tenner.

Thenga Cafe – Kings Cross

If you want cheap, but your legs are tired from a day of sightseeing, check out this Indian cafe. Their menu changes every day, but they have set menus for under £6, with a selection of different dishes. They also serve delicious teas, cakes and juices!

Mid range ££

Making a night of it? Splash a bit more cash!

222 Vegan Cuisine – Hammersmith

I love this place, and it’s a bit of an all-rounder. During the day they offer an all you can eat buffet for £12 per person, but in the evening the vibe changes to candle lit and cosy. You can get a wide range of dishes, from Stroganoff, to burgers and risotto. Everything is vegan and everything is delicious, trust me.

Itadaki Zen – Kings Cross

If you’re after something a bit more out there, this is a good spot to check out. This all organic, all vegan restaurant has so many options, you’ll be spoilt for choice. You can get a lunch for around £10, or in the evening you can try one of their set menus, which comes up at around £25. They’ve got sushi, udon and loads more.

Luxury £££

Where vegan meets gourmet.

Vanilla Black – Holborn

This restaurant is so expensive it doesn’t even list its prices online…however I can tell you it’s around £100 for two. But, the final price obviously depends on your drinks. However, if you’re looking to treat yourself, this is a great shout! They serve delicate and beautiful dishes, and offer a taster menu of five dishes for £55 per person.

Pied a Terre – Fitzrovia

Whilst this isn’t a vegetarian or vegan specific restaurant, it has a 10 course taster menu that is known to be exceptional. At £94 a head, it isn’t cheap, but is sure to be a fantastic experience. They are also Michelin star, so you just know it’ll be good.

Happy eating!
